英菲利普亲王术后恢复良好 将返回公众视野

新华网8月4日电 据《太阳报》报道，92岁的菲利普亲王接受胃部手术后已出院8周时间，他将于8月12日出席一场公众活动，这是他手术后第一次出现在公众视野内。

他将出席在爱丁堡举行的皇家学会，届时会为顶尖科学家和商界领袖颁发皇家奖牌。

一名知情人士表示，“菲利普亲王已经迫不及待，他在康复过程中就已经做了大量的案头工作……他计划在10月份恢复全部工作。”

虽然没有透露手术细节，但一名发言人说：“公爵恢复良好。”

菲利普亲王本月晚些时候有望见到威廉和凯特的宝宝——乔治小王子，这也将会是亲王和小乔治的第一次见面。

菲利普亲王6月6日在白金汉宫参加完花园派对之后，被送往伦敦的私人诊所接受腹部探查手术。11天后，他自己从医院走出来，并于之后的两个月留在温莎城堡和桑德林汉姆休养。

Prince Philip to return to public life after recovering from major surgery

The 92-year-old Duke will take on his first engagement on August 12 — eight weeks after leaving hospital for a stomach operation.

He will present Royal Medals to top scientists and business leaders at the Royal Society in Edinburgh.

A source said: “Prince Philip has been champing at the bit to get back into action and doing at lot of desk work on his patronages during his convalescence.

“He intends to return to a full set of duties in October.”

Details of the op have not been revealed, but a spokesman said: “The Duke is making good progress.”

Philip is expected to meet William and Kate s baby son George for the first time later this month at Balmoral.

The Duke was admitted to the private London Clinic for “exploratory surgery” after attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace on June 6.

He walked out of hospital 11 days later and has since spent two months recuperating at Windsor Castle and Sandringham.
