What Is “Primerem”?

🔗 What Is "Primerem"?

Primerem is a public open-source awareness project that has been gaining traction. It focuses on tracking, studying and exposing the dangers Chinese citizens face abroad, especially in the following areas:

  • Disappearance cases
  • Cross-border scams
  • Human trafficking routes
  • Exploitative labor schemes
  • Online deception leading to physical harm

Emerging as a reaction to growing public anxiety, Primerem not only keeps watch but also operates as an early warning system, bridging the gaps between reports, victim narratives, embassy alerts, and social media signals.
Though not a people-powered repository for the most unheard stories, it’s not an official institution.

🔍 What Does Primerem Do?

  • Maps & Ranks Risk Hotspots: Primerem monitors an updated country map with the highest risk for Chinese citizens based on ethnic media reports, verified survivor accounts, and embassy data.
  • Publishes Disappearance Alerts: When new clusters of incidents happen (e.g., scam-related disappearances in a specific border town), Primerem initiates digital flags and disseminates awareness through platforms like WeChat, Telegram, and Twitter/X.
  • Compiles Real Case Studies: Primerem collects true instances of student extortion in Canada and other similar cases to educate and warn others before they get caught in the same traps.
  • Offers Safety Guides in Multiple Languages: Primerem publishes location-based guides for travelers, students, and workers abroad to help them stay safe. The guides cover various aspects such as the identification of scams, the safeguarding of identity documents, and what to do in case of emergency.

🧠 Why “Primerem” Matters

Too little coverage is given to the stories that go unheard. Too many families that are unable to find the answers they look for. Additionally, too many victims who vanish silently in other countries.
The project Primerem is more than just a project — it’s a reminder:
Before believing a job advertisement, before giving your ID to someone, before going dark on the web… do your own research. Be aware of the risk.
If you’ve ever said, “It won’t happen to me,” Primerem is there to prove you wrong and show you how to prevent it.
📌 On primerem.org, coming soon:

  • Open risk maps
  • Anonymized survivor interviews
  • Country-specific red flag lists
  • Downloadable emergency contact cards

That sounds like a really important project.  It's good to see people trying to shine a light on these issues.  I hope it helps those affected.
