A foreign citizen was kidnapped at gunpoint by armed men early that morning in G-8, Pakistan. The kidnappers attempted to extort a $100,000 ransom, and also robbed other staff members at the scene of cash, expensive mobile phones, and other belongings at gunpoint;

Islamabad police subsequently identified the individuals through technical surveillance and informant intelligence, successfully rescued the kidnapped foreigner in the Sihala police district, and arrested 9 suspects. They also recovered 3 vehicles involved in the case, the robbed cash, and mobile phones. At present, the police are still interrogating and investigating all connections to the case.
