💦 Andaz 5th base suite or Hyatt Regency Jersey City Hudson River suite?

As the title says, I'm going to NY on a business trip next week, and I've applied SUAs to both:

Andaz 5th: Sunday to Friday, 5 days total, plus 2 more days (Friday and Saturday) in a standard room. It should just be the most basic suite.

Hyatt Regency Jersey City: Sunday to Saturday, 6 days total, plus one more day (Saturday) in a standard room. This hotel has two kinds of standard suites; the SUA one is the Hudson River suite.

The company is in Manhattan. From Hyatt in Jersey City, the commute is about 30 minutes; from Andaz 5th, walking would probably take 30–40 minutes.

If you often need to work overtime or meet clients during your business trip, prioritize options closer to the office so you can save commute time for rest. Also, check how convenient the area around the hotel is—for example, whether there are easy dining options when you get back at night.

For commuting to Manhattan for work, the Jersey City option is more practical—a half-hour commute each day beats walking for 30 to 40 minutes.

If daily commute predictability is a top priority, Jersey City can be a good fit—provided PATH service is reliable and your office is close to WTC or 33rd Street. Otherwise, transfers plus walking can add up to more than 30 minutes, and timing can vary even more in bad weather or during the evening rush.

When you mentioned Andaz is a 30–40 minute walk, is that the actual walking distance or just an estimate? The north–south avenues in Midtown Manhattan can feel quite different when you're actually walking them, so it might be worth checking the specific route from that address to the office.

Do the two hotels have different cancellation policies? If my business trip plans change, which one is more flexible?

Staying in Jersey City for a business trip comes with a hidden cost: PATH fares run just over $5 a day round trip, which adds up over a week, and evening trains may run less frequently. If your office is near 33rd Street or the WTC, the impact is smaller; but if it's on the east side, that last stretch on foot or with a transfer will noticeably lengthen your commute, and the real-world gap from staying at the Andaz won't be as big as it looks on paper.
