My company only covers economy, and I need to fly SFO-LHR. Should I go with AS SFO-SEA-LHR or BA direct SFO-LHR? I'm considering AS because I have Titanium status + UC, but the SEA/LHR route seems really hard to get an upgrade on.

Routes between the UK and the US work differently, so a BA economy experience departing from Europe won't necessarily be directly comparable to what you'd get from the US side—it really depends on the specific fare and cabin class.

Look at it from another angle: if the company only reimburses economy, the priority probably isn't which route offers the best chance of an upgrade. What matters more is which route has fewer connections, lower risk of missed flights, and leaves you in good enough shape to get work done after landing—the upgrade itself is secondary.
Routing through SEA looks like a way to rack up EQM toward AS status, but the SFO-SEA leg itself takes time, and with the connection you're adding at least three or four hours—if your business trip is tight, you have to factor in that time cost. And with both segments in economy, if your Titanium status doesn't get you an upgrade on SEA-LHR, the upside of the detour really comes down to UC and mileage accrual.
