I was originally trying to find out whether Meta works back in China, but it turns out it's not only unavailable in China—it also doesn't work in Europe, Australia, or Mexico.
Looking at the terms, it seems using a VPN makes it very easy to get your account banned.
So does it automatically stop working outside these four regions? Or is it just that you can't register in other regions?
The account suspension mentioned in the terms may target those using a VPN to bypass restrictions; it doesn't necessarily mean that someone logging in normally from another region will also be banned.
Not being able to register outside the four regions you mentioned is not the same as not being able to use it at all. Do the terms clearly spell out the difference between login restrictions and registration restrictions? Also, is the geographic restriction tied to the account itself, or is it determined by IP? That's worth confirming first.
Can existing accounts that were already registered in other regions still log in normally?
Looking at it from another angle, it could take quite a while for other regions to get access, so don't rush into investing too much.
