Rakuten Amex Naruto Collaboration Physical Card

The Apple Wallet card design is actually pretty nice

I signed up when I saw the collaboration card, and it's a good chance to rack up some Bilt points while Rakuten still offers them, so I can earn a bit more before the year ends. But there's no need to sign up if you don't spend much

The packaging has a bit of design flair

The metallic finish on the card looks decent, but it's extremely thin and light—it's not a metal card, just a metal-look skin

If you care about how it feels in hand, there's no need for it

If your main reason for getting the card is the design and the co-branded perks, it's worth running the numbers first—annual fee, rewards structure, and your actual monthly spending—before deciding whether to keep it long term. Chasing the sign-up bonus and holding a card long term are two different things, so think through how you'll handle year two before you apply.

Will the metal skin on this card tend to peel at the corners or fade after long-term use?

I actually think you don't necessarily have to spend a lot to make a card worthwhile—what really matters is whether the sign-up bonus and first-year annual fee waiver cover the cost. Looking only at spending might mean you're missing part of the picture.

Since it's veneered rather than solid metal, watch for wear along the edges when using ATMs and card readers—once the surface gets scratched, the co-branded design will show it more clearly. Also, the thinner card body may not slide into some readers as smoothly as a thicker card, so it's best to keep a backup card with you.

How exactly do Bilt points transfer over, and roughly how long does it take for them to show up?
