How long does a BOA Ascent application stay 'in review'?

First-time applicant for the BOA Ascent, no BOA account. They did a hard pull the same day I applied, and my credit score is fine.

But it's still showing 'in review' — it's already been 3 days....

Should I call and ask, or just wait? Could I get denied?

A few days before applying for BOA, I wanted to apply for an Amex card, but because of a poor relationship with them there was no welcome offer, so I didn't submit and get the card.... But I figure that probably doesn't have much to do with this....

Before that, last year I applied for a Chase Marriott card. Nothing else recently.

What exactly did they say when you called customer service? Did they tell you to keep waiting, or did they say you need to submit additional documents? I'm also following this process and would like to know how they typically respond.

Three days isn't really that long—don't rush to keep calling and pushing them.

Actually, not having a BoA account may matter more than your credit score here—new customers applying for the first time often get pulled into manual review. Since you opened that Chase Marriott card last year, have you kept using it and making payments as normal? If your account activity has been low recently, the review team may be more cautious.

When you say "no welcome offer if the relationship isn't good," are you referring to the Amex pop-up message? If so, not submitting the application that time shouldn't leave any record, but are you sure you didn't click submit?
