If you're seriously thinking about reaching out, it's best to first ask how payment is handled, how wages are paid out, and whether you need to front money for goods or put down a deposit. Five hours a week for 1,200 sounds good, but only if they can clearly explain the company name, how taxes are filed, and the shipping process—otherwise it's hard to tell whether they're legit.

This pay doesn't seem to match the workload. Better to ask for clarification first before doing anything.

Five hours a day, twelve hundred a week paid weekly—the key is whether it's part-time or full-time, and whether it counts as self-employment. Here in the U.S., work-hour and tax rules vary from state to state; California and Texas are quite different, so it's best to figure out your status first before talking further.

You could ask them to share a bit more: which platform they use for shipping, whether you'd need to print the shipping labels yourself, and roughly how many customer messages come in each day. Once you have those details, you can decide whether to keep talking — and it'll also help you figure out if you can realistically handle it alongside everything else.

Which takes up more time: replying to messages or shipping orders?

This kind of recruitment often happens through direct messages on social platforms or text messages. If the other party pressures you to decide quickly or asks for your Social Security number or bank information upfront, be cautious—legitimate processes usually don't move that fast.
