ANA Non-Through Ticket, I'm Really Nervous

Booked a trip for my parents from Beijing to Seattle:

NH962: PEK → HND

NH118: HND → SEA

Both flights are ANA, but they were booked separately as non-through tickets, with only about 100 minutes of connection time in between.

Since both are business class and were so hard to get, I'm now a bit worried that flight 962 might be delayed and we'd miss 118. Does anyone have similar experience? Is there enough time? If it really is delayed, will ANA help rebook for free?

962 was booked through LifeMiles, 118 was issued by Air Canada.

Thank you so much

There isn't enough information here to make a judgment yet—we'll have to see if anyone shares their practical experience with the transfer later on.

The biggest hassle with separate tickets is that the onward carrier won't take responsibility if the first leg is delayed. With only a 100-minute connection at HND, you still have to clear customs and security, so if NH962 runs late, you'll almost certainly miss NH118.

It's a good idea to check the rebooking policies with LifeMiles and Air Canada separately first. With non-through tickets, if something goes wrong, the two airlines will likely pass the buck to each other, so be prepared for potential extra rebooking costs.
