Lately, many overseas Chinese have been keeping an eye on 2026 Douyin Wonderful Night. First, to clarify: this is Douyin's annual gala, not a Double 11 gala. ⏰ Live broadcast time: October 11, 19:30 📺 Viewing channels: Douyin App livestream, simulcast on Beijing TV, and also rebroadcast on platforms like Huoshan Douyin and Xigua Video.

The guest lineup is quite rich. Actors and singers such as Zhou Shen, Tan Jianci, Deng Chao, Mao Xiaotong, and Hu Yanbin will all appear, along with many short drama creators and intangible cultural heritage-related performances, so the stage content is quite diverse. If you're overseas, you can watch the livestream normally as long as your network environment is set up properly. If you plan to send gifts to your favorite guests in the livestream room, you'll need Douyin Diamonds.

Some common issues overseas users encounter with Douyin Diamonds

Douyin's native channels are mainly suited for domestic WeChat and Alipay. Many friends overseas don't have these types of domestic accounts, which makes using them difficult. On iOS, if you go through the in-app native channel, there's an additional 30% Apple-related service fee, so with the same budget, you'll get fewer Diamonds. Bank cards issued overseas mostly cannot be used directly on Douyin's native checkout interface.

  1. Third-party online channels

There are online channels of this kind, and ANTNUM is one of them. Many overseas Chinese use it to handle Douyin recharge-related needs. These channels generally use UID direct recharge, requiring only your pure numeric Douyin UID. You don't need to provide your account password or log in to your account.

Reminder: Be clear about the different products. Some channels also offer Huoshan Douyin Diamonds and Dou + related services. Huoshan Diamonds and main-site Douyin Diamonds are not interchangeable; Dou + is a short video traffic-related tool and cannot be used for livestream gifting, so be careful to distinguish between them.

  1. Explanation of what Douyin Diamonds are used for

Diamonds can only be used to send gifts in livestream rooms. They cannot be withdrawn and cannot be exchanged for cash. Prepare them according to your actual needs, and don't prepare an amount far beyond what you need all at once.

Quick summary

  • For occasional small use, if you have reliable relatives or friends in China: prioritize asking relatives or friends in China for help
  • For small use on iPhone, if you don't want the hassle: you can consider the in-app native channel and accept the Apple service fee
  • For long-term residence overseas with no domestic payment tools: you can look into third-party channels like ANTNUM on your own and prepare in advance for convenient viewing of the gala livestream.

Disclaimer: This article is only a personal viewing experience and pitfall-avoidance sharing, and does not constitute any form of recommendation. Third-party channels carry uncertain risks such as account risk control and inventory changes. Please evaluate them yourself and comply with Douyin's official platform rules.

Just a heads-up: if you normally use an overseas phone number to sign up for Douyin, you might not even be able to open the native checkout page when sending gifts in a livestream. It's not about the money—it's that you're simply not given the option to choose a payment method. Also, Beijing TV's simulcast and the Douyin livestream are two separate systems. Watching the TV signal from overseas can be laggy and slow, so you're better off just sticking with Douyin.

Bank cards vary a lot from region to region, so they don't necessarily all get blocked.

First, make sure whether you're using the main Douyin app or the Huoshan version—their diamonds aren't interchangeable, so if you top up the wrong one, your money's wasted.

What people tend to overlook most is the time difference and bandwidth costs. Watching a 7:30 p.m. livestream from the U.S. West Coast means it's actually 3 or 4 a.m., and many people fall asleep before the gift-giving segment even starts. On top of that, overseas transoceanic connections tend to drop frames during peak evening hours, so you end up paying for a VPN accelerator just to grab gifts—and over a month, that can cost more than the diamonds themselves. If you're only watching occasionally, it's better to just ask friends or family back home to send gifts on your behalf.

Is sending gifts with an overseas number more likely to trigger risk control?
