Philips Avent Premium Connected Baby Monitor at a great price! After adding it to your baby registry, it's $152.99 before tax—if you need one, now's the time to grab it!

How does this compare to the ones back in China (like the Hippo Baby and similar)? I noticed it doesn't seem to have obstruction detection?

If you've decided to buy it, first check whether it supports both 2.4G and 5G dual-band. If it only supports a single band, you'll need to adjust your home router settings.

The lack of obstruction detection is a pretty big deal—the app won't alert you if your baby's face gets covered by a blanket, so you'll need to keep a close eye on them yourself.

You mentioned it's $152.99 after adding it to your baby registry — is that price the result of stacking the registry completion discount? What's the original price for people who haven't added it to a registry? Also, in China, Haima Baba focuses on cry detection and sleep reports, while Avent seems to emphasize local encryption and low latency. Their features have different priorities, so it's best to first figure out which one you need most.
