Tonight's Amazon Prime Day 2026

What's going on with green work? The self-propelled Greenworks I bought from Costco last time was fine.

Currently my first choice.

It's just that $375 is a bit pricey. There's an upgrade offer for $299, but I don't know what kind of proof it requires.

Or maybe wait for a deal.

The 40v one is pretty garbage. Greenworks' warranty is basically nonexistent. If you're going to buy one, get the 80v — the battery alone costs more than the whole mower.

No warranty. If it breaks, there's nowhere to find customer service. Quality is so-so. It's an old Chinese company.

I bought one from Amazon before, it broke within a year, and then there was nowhere to find customer service. Try going to the official website to look for repairs and you'll see what I mean.

May I ask what the router's home automation refers to?

Probably the firmware version. I suddenly realized I'm already on 1.3.5, but it seems fine? Maybe I just don't have many devices at home.

Could you double-check the exact process for this upgrade offer?

It feels like you're conflating different voltage models with warranties from different sales channels—the after-sales support on Greenworks' official website versus third-party Amazon sellers can differ quite a bit. It's best to first confirm the model, who the seller is, and whether the product was registered before deciding if the $299 upgrade is worth it; otherwise, it's easy to mistake an individual experience for a general conclusion.

Warranty is one of those things you don't think about until something goes wrong—and then it's a headache. Before you buy, it's worth checking whether there's an authorized repair center nearby. Otherwise, you might find yourself on your own when it breaks.

Maybe hold off for a bit—there's often another round of price drops after Prime Day.

I have a slightly different take on the idea that 80v batteries cost more than the whole machine—it really depends on how big your yard is and how many times a year you mow. For a small yard, 40v is completely sufficient; only for a large yard is it worth going with 80v. You can't make a blanket statement.

The real issue is after-sales risk: sure, it's cheap, but if it breaks, you're basically on your own—so don't just look at the price.

I'm using that 1.3.5 firmware too, and honestly I haven't noticed any difference.
