I'm screwed. Xiao An is stuck in Japan because of visa issues, lost in Tokyo. It's Friday today and I can't get my passport, which completely wrecks my plans. I was thinking that since I can't get my passport back and can't go home anyway, I might as well go visit some other cities cheaply for a few days — like HND-CTS to check out the new store opening, switch to a burner account and write a first-post trip report on the forum or something. I already bought: Day X HND-CTS JL523 Day Y CTS-HND-GMP JL590+JL95 with a 9h long layover same day My plan was to use the long layover at HND to leave the airport, go pick up my passport, and then continue flying to Korea. But if I have a checked suitcase, can I still board like that? Can I check in with my driver's license or something similar? If the first domestic segment allows online check-in and self-service bag drop, what do I do about the second and third segments? If I force it into a stopover exceeding 24h, can I bypass all the checks? Or do I have to split it into two separate tickets for it to work? (Though thinking about it calmly, it's not a big deal — just costs 7,500 more points. But after thinking about it for a long time, I still have no experience and don't know anything. I wanted to ask the travel experts on the forum — does anyone have similar experiences or relevant DPs?)
