In January 2025, I opened a BOA account for the SUB, which was $300 for a direct deposit. When the bonus was paid out, I noticed it was only $224. If I close the BOA account early, will I still get a 1099? Churning Last month I received the $224 BOA SUB (24% was withheld), and I planned to claim it back when filing taxes next year. But now I want to close the BOA account. If I close it now, will I still receive a 1099 next year? Considering that having to deposit $1,500 every month means losing out on interest, I closed the account after 6 months, planning to claim it back when filing my 2026 taxes. After filing my 2026 taxes, I waited several months and never received the refund, which I found strange—until I later got a letter from the IRS. It seems the 1040 didn't match the IRS records, which caused the delay. Later, when I checked the IRS records, I found that the IRS apparently never received a 1099 from BOA at all.
