I originally booked Hainan Airlines BKK → Wuhan, with a connection in Haikou. After arriving in Haikou in the afternoon, the plan was to continue to Wuhan after 5 pm. Now Hainan Airlines has moved that segment to 9 am the next day, which means an overnight stay in Haikou. The ticket was purchased through Trip.com, and Trip.com customer service has already applied to Hainan Airlines for a hotel on my behalf, but so far Hainan Airlines is not agreeing to provide accommodation. How do people usually handle this kind of situation? Should I keep pushing the airline to arrange a free hotel, or do I just have to book one myself? If anyone has run into something similar, please share your experience.
