There's a pretty practical problem with these kinds of posts: the matches that actually work tend to depend on overlapping travel dates, but a lot of people only mention the city when they post, without specific dates or how many days they'll be staying. So you end up chatting for ages only to realize you won't even be there at the same time. On top of that, Tokyo and Osaka are quite far apart, so if you're posting in both, it's worth figuring out upfront how much travel time you're willing to spend to actually meet—otherwise it's easy to end up with something that only ever happens online and never in person.

When it comes to safety reminders, people of different genders and age groups can have very different feelings—a woman meeting someone alone versus going with a few friends involves completely different concerns. The post says to respect each other's need to travel safely, but it would be best to clarify whether the first meeting should be in a public place during the day or just at some izakaya; that makes a big difference.

The key point is still not to make dating the main focus of your trip.

If you really want to give it a try, start with topics like attractions or food. After chatting a few times and feeling it's reliable, meet somewhere easy to leave, like a station or a café, and let your companions know your plans. The premise is that you already have free time and don't mind a conversation that might lead nowhere.
