I feel like the most important thing for a fall trip to Colorado is really the timing window. The peak of the leaves changing color is very short, and a one-week difference can make the experience quite different, so don't pack your itinerary too full and leave some flexibility.
From another angle, a post that only covers one week of relaxation and leaves the rest blank is itself quite interesting. It may suggest the author wanted to claim a spot first and fill in the details later when they had time, rather than writing a complete guide all at once. That way, whatever gets added afterward might lean more toward personal impressions than a standard itinerary.
Just a heads-up: mountain weather can turn on a dime, so be sure to check road conditions and closure information before you set out.
How many spots can you hit in a week? How should we plan for travel time?
