Boundless drawer card, used every year to grab the FN and elite night credits. This year's new addition is the airline reimbursement. First half of the year I used it on Cathay Pacific to pay taxes and fees, via the link sent to my email by customer service. A few days ago I remembered I could get another 50 reimbursed in the second half, so I used it to pay the taxes on a domestic China Southern ticket to Japan. Paid on the official website. Today I got hit. No idea which step leaked it. I threw the info at GPT — there are already posts from the Germany region about being hit with €1 test charges, and from what I read, several people with European banks have reported fraudulent charges. Then it added this merchant's history. There's also a noteworthy historical background: Zoo Berlin officially disclosed a Ticketcounter data breach back in 2021. At the time, roughly 400,000 Zoo / Tierpark / Aquarium Berlin customers were affected, involving customer data from the 2020 online shop. Zoo Berlin stated at the time that the information involved mainly included names, emails, and booked products, but that passwords, phone numbers, addresses, and dates of birth were not leaked. Not sure if it's another small-amount no-CVV-needed test or if everything's already been leaked — either way, check your texts and emails when you can.

Contactless small-amount payments without a PIN are more common in Europe, while in China, an SMS alert may come first.

First, call your bank's customer service to freeze the card, then go through your statements from the past three months line by line; if your annual-fee card has a reimbursement deadline, don't put it off to the point where it affects your next claim.

The Zoo Berlin leak came to light back in 2021, but this time the fraud is showing up on a new merchant, so it may not be the same old data. The more important question is: who in the card payment chain got the full card number? Was it the Cathay Pacific customer service email link, the China Southern website, or some platform linked to the card in your drawer? I'd suggest the original poster lay out the timeline and the authorization channels so everyone can compare notes and more easily pin down the source.

First check your text messages and email for the €1 test charge, and if you find it, lock your card immediately.
