Can the Vegas Escape rate at WA Las Vegas be used with the Aspire Resort Credit?

I recently applied for this card during the Aspire all-time-high offer, and I want to use the $200 resort credit for a Thanksgiving trip to WA Las Vegas.

After carefully reading the terms and the discussions in the forum, I found that non-refundable rates are not eligible for reimbursement, and you need to book at least semiflex.

However, after looking through the various rates at WA Las Vegas, I noticed that at the very bottom there is a rate called Vegas Escape. Not only is the price almost as low as the non-refundable rate, but it also has a 3 days prior cancellation policy. And according to the description, it does not charge prepayment, only a deposit of about one night's room charge, similar to the other flex options.

So I would like to ask the experts here: 1. If I book at this rate, can it trigger the Aspire Resort Credit reimbursement, given that it seems to meet Amex's requirements of no prepayment/being cancellable, while at the same time the price is very good? I have attached the description of this rate (Figure 1) and a comparison with other rates (Figure 2) for your reference.

Also, 2. If I book a Non-Refundable rate, but I eat at the hotel or charge Room Service to the room, can that spending trigger the hotel reimbursement? It feels like it should be possible, because this spending would only occur after arriving at the hotel?

Finally, I would also like to ask everyone 3. Are there any shows or similar things in Vegas that are especially recommended?

I sincerely ask the experts here to help answer this for me. d

Terms and actual practice can be two different things. The system identifies Resort Credit mainly by merchant category and whether the charge is made in advance. Although Vegas Escape is listed as cancellable with a one-night deposit, if the hotel pre-authorizes the full amount before check-in, the reimbursement could run into problems. I'd suggest checking the pre-authorization amount and merchant name on your Amex statement right after booking, and if something looks off, change it quickly.

When you booked, did you choose prepay or pay at the hotel? Does that option show up?

Figure 1 says the deposit is one night's room rate, but have you confirmed whether it's actually an authorization hold or a real charge? That distinction directly determines whether you can get reimbursed.

Whether a meal charged to your room can be reimbursed depends mainly on whether the hotel ultimately bills the dining and room charges separately or together.

To be safe, book Vegas Escape first and keep a screenshot of the cancellation policy, then confirm again within three days before check-in whether it will switch to prepaid. If the charge only happens at check-in, it should basically meet the Resort Credit requirement; but if the hotel pre-authorizes the entire stay in advance, even if no money is actually charged, Amex may not count it. During Thanksgiving, room rates and resort fees are high, so the $200 credit may only cover part of it—don't force extra spending just to get reimbursed.
