#Japanese AV Actress Sakurai Hana Suspected to Have Died by Suicide

Did the police issue any follow-up bulletin about the detail that a friend discovered and reported it?

So far, this message only shows a post from the owner on social media. Have the police and the talent agency issued any formal statements? Notification procedures for this kind of incident vary quite a bit from place to place. In Japan, official word usually comes from the Metropolitan Police Department or the local police station, so I'd want a more definitive source before drawing any conclusions.

Pausing filming after a traffic accident—the timeline is actually quite tight. In the industry, returning after an injury often involves contracts and medical documentation, which is more complicated to carry out than outsiders might think.

What we're really lacking right now is an authoritative source. It's hard to move the discussion forward based on rumors alone.

When you come across messages like this, check whether the police or mainstream media have confirmed them before sharing. After many tragedies, all kinds of speculation and screenshots quickly spread online, causing further harm to the family and colleagues. Waiting a bit before forwarding is really not that hard.

When the owner posted a tribute, they mentioned not to spread rumors. What specific rumors were they referring to?

I think it's better to be cautious about inferring the cause of death based solely on what a friend discovered and a post from the owner.
