NBI Raids Parañaque Condo, 4 Chinese Nationals Arrested on Drug Charges The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Anti-Cybercrime Division raided a condominium in Parañaque City, arresting 4 Chinese nationals — 1 woman and 3 men. After law enforcement officers opened the door to the target unit, they searched 4 rooms: high-quality marijuana, known as kush, was found on a side table; suspected shabu was discovered on the bathroom floor; and drug paraphernalia along with suspected drug residue were found inside a cabinet in another room. The NBI said its Anti-Cybercrime Division had previously monitored the suspects using the internet to order various types of drugs, which were then mixed into takeout food and other online purchases and delivered to the condominium. NBI Director Melvin Matibag said: "Through the Anti-Cybercrime Division, we monitored some people using the internet to order drugs, and they were ordering various types of drugs." The 4 suspects underwent drug testing, and 2 tested positive. All 4 will face further legal proceedings for allegedly violating Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165). Matibag reminded the public that using marijuana and shabu is illegal in the Philippines. The NBI said it will not allow foreigners to treat the Philippines as a venue for drug activities.
